Our Mission
We forget this lesson of history at our peril: Freedom is hard won, but too easily lost.
Freedom First Society is a principle-based membership organization following the principles and strategy of the great patriot and leader Robert Welch.
Our strategic focus is building a national network of members and 21st Century chapters to preserve our liberties as protected by the United States Constitution.
Robert Welch agreed enthusiastically with the 18th Century British statesman Edmund Burke (who stood up for the American colonists).
Unfortunately, most Americans today are unfamiliar with the overwhelming evidence of an influential Conspiracy, which is gaining momentum in its diabolical plan to build a tyrannical New World Order.
Freedom First Society provides Americans with the organization, programs, concerted-action campaigns, and educational tools to expose and rout that Conspiracy.
Through the inspired and dedicated efforts of our members we fully intend to become known as the greatest anti-slavery organization in history.

Expose & Route the Conspiracy
Many Americans who previously regarded the American dream as their birthright are shocked to realize that the dream may be dying.
Most responsible Americans, however, are frustrated because they have no clear understanding of how America got into trouble, and therefore they have no realistic idea of what to do about it.
Despite the promises of political leader after political leader, from both major parties, to put America back on track, our nation’s problems — economic, social, and political — have steadily become worse.
Freedom First Society’s position is that Americans have been deceived into accepting a false view of what is driving this new American revolution. And that without a clear understanding by many more opinion molders of the revolution’s goals, it’s deceptions, and how it is organized, we will steadily lose our “birthright.”
Conversely, experience shows that this subversive plan cannot survive the light of day. Hence Freedom First Society’s strategy of exposure.
Three Exposure Tools
Wide distribution of these tools, particularly through personal contacts, is at the heart of our strategy to Expose the Conspiracy!
This emphasis on exposure is also an essential feature of several supporting Freedom First Society campaigns:

For each of the above revolutionary confrontations, Freedom First Society provides essential leadership missing from the common public reaction — a reaction that regrettably focuses purely on defense. Instead, we seek to expose the revolutionary background and hidden agenda behind the assaults.
The "Conspiracy" Claim
Although there is a lot of resistance to the term, “Conspiracy,” we continue to use it, because the battle over the term coincides with the necessary exposure.
However, it is essential that we clarify what we mean by “Conspiracy” and equally what we do not mean.
A variety of evidence confirms the existence of a powerful Conspiracy, similar to many conspiracies throughout history. The modern version differs primarily in that it is much better organized and planned, based on long revolutionary experience.
Our view of this group fits the dictionary definition of conspiracy — a secret plan among more than one to carry out an arguably evil end.
Any effective conspiracy must keep its designs secret or at least not allow the public at large to view them undisguised. This necessarily dictates that the innermost circle of the conspiracy be kept small. Outside this inner circle, many others may serve its designs, knowingly or unknowingly, for a variety of motivations.
The most powerful means the present Master Conspiracy has for enlisting others in its cause is its ability to provide ladders (career, social, and financial) to the ambitious.
It’s Not a Theory
Those who wish to keep the public unaware of the massive evidence for a conspiracy have adopted a number of tactics. A primary tactic is to pretend as though no hard evidence exists — dismissing alarmists as simply unschooled minds embracing a simplistic explanation and speculative “theory” for complex events.
Another tactic seeks to make the conspiracy claim sound ridiculous through exaggeration and distortion or by highlighting the wild charges of “convenient” strawmen. Contrary to such spins, the Conspiracy is not a large, pervasive, disciplined army.
Another tactic used to hide the evidence is to enforce an unwritten code for “respectable” public debate. Those Establishment forces that dominate the major media have been very successful in intimidating any who might consider speaking out of school. According to the code, it is “politically correct” to talk about ideological differences and sincere differences of opinion, but not to expose organized deception or hidden agendas.
In short, it is okay to discuss fires, building codes, and fire prevention, but those who would expose arson are to be, in the words of Nikita Khrushchev “subjected to the torments of hell.” Today’s politicians are well aware of how the late Senator Joseph McCarthy has been continuously vilified, and they get the message — don’t go there, unless you wish to commit political suicide.
One Who Spoke Out
Strengthen Freedom’s Foundations
Once the current threat to our freedom is exposed and routed (see previous menu topic), there will be a need to repair the damage done to our institutions, particularly to America’s opinion-forming and character-building institutions.
A further, never-ending task will be to build an electorate that understands the lessons of history and thereby strengthen our nation’s immunity to totalitarian ambition.
America’s Founding Fathers were great students of history who sought to heed the lessons of the past. James Madison, often referred to as the father of our Constitution, understood the lessons of history this way:
“Although all men are born free, and all nations might be so, yet too true it is, that slavery has been the general lot of the human race. Ignorant — they have been cheated; asleep — they have been surprised; divided — the yoke has been forced upon them.”
“But what is the lesson? That because the people may betray themselves, they ought to give themselves up, blindfolded, to those who have an interest in betraying them?”
Rather conclude that the people ought to be enlightened, to be awakened, to be united, that after establishing a government they should watch over it as well as obey it.”
Madison regarded an informed electorate as the safest and only proper repository for ultimate power. With our system of government, evil men can prosper only if the American people are confused and deluded.
In his Farewell Address upon preparing to leave office, George Washington said:
“Promote, then, as an object of primary importance, institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge. In proportion as the structure of a government gives force to public opinion, it is essential that public opinion should be enlightened.”
However, both Washington and Madison would certainly have been aghast at the suggestion that the federal government they were forming should control that education.
Religion and Morality
In addition to warning of the danger of ignorance, our Founding Fathers also admonished their fellow Americans to recognize religion and morality as essential foundations. “Our Constitution,” said John Adams, “was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
In his Farewell Address, George Washington also expressed this conviction:
“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness — these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and cherish them…
“And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”
So our Founding Fathers were well aware that the American experiment in freedom would collapse if its underlying principles were not wisely and vigilantly protected. Unfortunately, most of these defenses against the subversion of our Republic have since been seriously weakened. Decades after our nation’s founding, Abraham Lincoln would conclude:
“At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never!”
“All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined … could not by force take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years.”
“At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.”
